FYI I called the box office at Paramount a little while ago to check on the status of ticket sales for the 9/16 GL performance. There was a recording - "due to an underground explosion in downtown Aurora, the box office is not operating...".

I wanted to find out more...it ocurred to me that an associate of mine lives/works in Aurora, so I became concerned. I emailed him, but no response yet. In the meantime, I did finally find some info online -an article in the Beacon News...and apparently my associate lives not too far from where the explosion occurred. Glad he's ok!

I used to live in Warrenville, Il, 5-10 miles from Aurora where we often heard underground explosions in the AM hours EX. 3AM and we attributed them to 'Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory' http://www.fnal.gov/pub/about/whatis/index.html.

WOW yikes! That must have been strange. Perhaps this is what Fermi refers to as their, "Science in the Neighborhood" program! Thanks for adding the link to the Fermi Lab website.. fascinating.

I've yet to follow up to see if there was a known cause yet for the explosion in Aurora...the next evening, there was another underground 'event'.

When I'm in Aurora..just to be on the safe side -gonna make sure I stay clear of the manholes!
