Well, Derek and I obviously didn't have enough to do last week to keep us out of trouble. And after hearing what he did to Ed's Nova Scotia Farewell, I got to thinking: Okay, what would happen if I sent a song to Derek and let him have at it? So, I sent him my recording of Ribbon Of Darkness, recorded through a cheap mic on my home PC, and he added bass and lead guitar. After several more remixes to get the levels right, this is what we came up with:
http://mageenet.net/ROD-addedmix5.mp3
Thanks to Val for putting it on her server so people can just download it, and so I won't have to go to the trouble of e-mailing it.
I know my original recording isn't perfect. I can hear a bit of a high frequency whistle, and Derek says he can hear a low end hum, but all in all, I'm pleased with it and it was really a lot of fun to do. This will give everyone an idea of just what goes on here when boredom sets in!

If you aren't getting the save option from your browser, try this link"
http://mageenet.net/Cathy-RODdownloadpage.html
Right click on the link and choose save as, or save target as, whichever option it gives you.
A couple people have commented that they are having buffering problems. If so, e-mail me at cathyco1@ainop.com and I'll e-mail the song to you.

<<Get Bored more often.>>
I'm planning to send Cathy a set of Financial Accounting Standards Boards pronouncements. That should bore her so much she'll be firing out mp3s like a machine gun!

Wow! If I had your voice, and Dereks guitar skills, I might get somewhere.
Nice job.

I'm not sure yet. I've been threatened bodily harm if we don't do Heaven Don't Deserve Me. I think I have to do a better recording of it first. I'll work on it this weekend.
Other possibilities are SFAWN, Heaven Help The Devil, I'm Not Sayin'. I may even stray away from Gord's songs and do Bobby McGee, or Leader Of The Band.
Thanks to everyone for their kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Bobby McGee, maybe...oh, go ahead!
Leader of the Band for sure!
Thank you, Cathy.
