LOL!
Char-broiled = Char-beque!
May 2001 saw me hosting 60 Lightfoot fans here in Toronto (Whitby) at my house for char-broiled burgers and dogs at my Char-beque/pool party/jam session!
great memories!

Hey Char, I think we need another bbq in 2004 when Gord comes back. How about your place? I'll bring the chips (can't bring meat into Canada from here). We could invite Gord and the band!!

I did invite Gord and the band in 2001!
lol
November in Toronto is a tad chilly for a barbeque outside tho. I could barbeque on my kitchen deck and everyone could sit inside and look at the closed up pool!
lol
Heck - I'd barbeque at Gord's house for all of you too!

Charbeque/pool party/jam session/costume party. If I remember right, we were all supposed to wear a costume that represented a Lightfoot song. I guess I just went in my Saturday Clothes. Probably much better than my original idea of dressing as the Ed Fitz and sinking in your pool. A bit too morbid.

Hey Char don't you just hate it when you forget your sign-in name and/or password
I am lucky here (on corfid at least) I must have my cookies well and truly enabled because ever since I reregistered as "johnfowles" instead of my earlier "fowlesjohn" (shortened from my e-mail address) I never have to type in my name or password. I do regularly have problems with Yahoo hence one of my sign-in names there is "pissoffsilly". Also years ago I had great trouble setting up an AOL
account and finally in desperation I came up with my current AOL Instant Messenger screen name of "okyoutellme". I have noticed that a number of sites encourage you to use your full e-mail addy to sign in; So nowadays I tend to use that whenever possible. Also long ago I decided to always use the same password which avoids many memory/recording problems

I remember the costume thing, Cathy. When people asked me what song I was supposed to be (dressed in ordinary clothes) I said "Ordinary Man."
Great jam sessions in TO that time. Very memorable.

I don't know Cathy, it seems to me that your Saturday Clothes were probably better than the "cleanest, dirty shirt" you ended up wearing when Sunday Morning [came] Down - that was quite an after concert pary, Saturday night, wasn't it?

I don't think Cathy remembers much of Saturday night. Except all the trouble we had trying to set the alarm clock once we got back to the room. I "distinctly" recall that I was soberer than she.
Yeah, it was some party.

it was great. it seems so long ago...tomorrow (8th) will be a year since Gord fell ill - that seems like forever ago.
I completely forgot about the costume thing! AND the treasure hunt! and Skippy in the pool! oh my gosh - I wish it was happening again! It was so overwhleming having 60 "new" friends come to my house that if it weren't for pics and videos I'd believe I dreamt it. and then that blonde Brit wouldn't go home and stayed on! tooo much fun...what a fabulous gift Lightfoot has given us - music and friends. can't beat it!
