There are some songs I cannot imagine Gord singing in concerts anymore for various reasons.

The Watchmans Gone- His voice will not go that high anymore. In fact, that's the highest I've ever heard him sing(that I can recall).

Too Many Clues In This Room- It would sound weird with Gord singing this in his older voice.

Too Much To Lose- He said he didn't want this song after it was turned down by the producers of that Paul Newman movie.

May I- Another song that I think would sound different in his older voice.

There are more songs I have in mind, but it's late at night. I'm only guessing he doesn't perform those anymore, I don't know for sure.

I heard him sing "The Watchman's Gone" about two years ago. I don't know about the other songs, although I've neither heard them performed in concert nor read of him singing them at any time in recent history.

Actually, I never percieved Gord as hitting many high notes in "Watchman". Towards the end of "Beautiful" he really got up there.

I wonder how well he'd do on,"The First Time (Ever I Saw Your Face)" today?

The list of songs no longer performed is substantially longer than those he does/did still perform. I'm sure there are various reasons... He simply grew tired of them, or felt that his voice had changed too much for certain songs, or felt that they no longer suited his style. I'd love to hear him do some of those that have been left behind, but he has made it clear that most of them will not be heard live again.

It'd be neat if he would maybe pick three or four of the UA-era songs and perhaps craft new arrangements for them, to make them more consistent with his current style and taste, and perform them live again.

I heard Gord sing "The Watchman's Gone" in 2001 in Denver... and it was the strongest song of the concert by far, and just one of those top 5 performances you remember of all concerts ever seen, not just Gord but all concerts. It was incredible.

Nanci and I have emailed back and forth. I am trying to get Gord to send us all an email! As for me, that would inspire me to push HARMONY as if it were my own!
Thanks to all!

Stallion, I was also at that concert, I agree he sang it great. That was the concert where I got my first autograph from Gord and a picture too! On the way home from the concert I called my daughter, mother and three friends back in Minnesota and one in Wyoming to tell them that Gord touched my bare arm. Unforgettable concert! Also to those who I called between 12 and 1.

Gordon sang "The Watchmans Gone" when he performed his last concert in Orillia before being taken ill. It sounded pretty good to me. He also sang "Beautiful" that night.

Jim were you at that concert in Orillia? I was in row 7 in the center, behind Bev, Elizabeth, Miles and Meredith.

Yes Brink, I was at that concert, my wife and I also had tickets for the Saturday show, plus tickets for the show in Stratford on the Monday.

As we booked the tickets quite late from here in the UK we were not sitting together and were some way back from the stage. But that did not mar our enjoyment of the performance.

I wish he'd hit those low notes more often.
It's seems he went from a rich, deep baritone to a tenor. (?) I miss his "Shadows" voice.

I'm so glad he's on the mend. That was a close one! Scary stuff.
