Lookin' at the first setlists of these shows of the new tour, it seems to me that Gordon doesn't take a risk at all.........his concert are always great and professional, but it's years that he usually make his setlist around the same group of 30-35 songs.
I think that he have to refresh his setlists, especially now , for his comeback tour.
Where are songs like "Pussywillows, cat-tails", "Affair on 8th avenue", "Saturday clothes","10 Degrees", "Miguel", "Cabaret", "The patriot's dream", "Same old obsession", "If children had wings" and even the most recently "Whispers of the north"?
Does he ever played these songs in the new century?
I know that Gordon can't satisfied all his fans, but i think that he have to play more songs than he actually did, the same way that Dylan does.

Plus, he has to choose songs that are in his current singing range.

Now that's one I'd REALLY like to hear him do. But except for the 'big hits' I don't think we could ever agree on the 'perfect setlist'. He'd need 8 days a week just to practice.

I always prefer the more "eclectic" setlists as well, but there is a difference between us as a group of hardcore fans, and your average listener who wants to hear the stuff they know, in much the way it was played on the radio (or very similar).

I don't know. I think the problem with Dylan's shows (though I love them) is that he can do 12 obscure songs (that you could hardly recognize anyway, since he does them all so differently now) and then 3 or 4 of the hits. I think Gord plays what he knows people have come to love over the years, and then adds in a few songs like "Never Too Close" or "Spanish Moss." I think that's a better way to go.
I'm also glad to see he's still playing songs from "Waiting for You." For the life of me I'll never understand why that album has gone so unnoticed (out of print already, if I recall).

I agree, Travis. I LOVE Waiting for You. It's VERY hard to get! And I think it's the most expensive to buy.

Yes, I also love "Waiting for You". I have it on tape and I'm afraid I'm wearing it out. I think "Fading Away" is a great "rock" song and could be a hit!!!

Yeah, I picked up two copies of Waiting for you on CD on Ebay a year or so ago when they weren't going for much. I've lost one, and the other is skipping on "Wild Strawberries" and "Drink Yer Glasses Empty," two of my favorite Gord songs ever. I'll have to keep my eye open for another one.

I love Waiting For You as well, although I found his singing a bit incomprehensible on the faster songs until I was more familiar with them. With that said, I generally have a harder time understanding his enunciation on the later stuff.

Travis, I just got another copy of Waiting for You on Amazon.com That's where I get most of my stuff. Got it new from a CD company in Illinois, I think. Check it out.

Do like I have done. I ripped all my 650+ cd's to mp3 format and repacked them away. Easier to manage that way
