Rick Haynes' Musicman StingRay

Hello everyone, I read somewhere that Rick Haynes used a Musicman StingRay for some of his career playing with Gord. Does anyone have any information regarding his guitar/s. I have a StingRay (hence my username) and this was a small part of why I chose it. I always want to hear about professional musicians who play the 'Ray, they are not very common. Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Thanks!

"Guilty,

Yes, I have an early Sting-Ray Bass. It was produced by Leo Fender / MusicMan shortly after
his non-competition clause expired after he sold Fender.
It was a blonde-neck / black body, but the black finish cracked badly & early
in it's life - I believe the body's wood was still fresh ( maybe holding some moisture ) that may have caused this.
So I stripped the body, and put a clear natural wood finish on it. Apparently, some of the later ones had neck
warpage issues, but mine is really a good one!

Stingray/MusicMan - I may be a piano guy, but I hung out at Leo's place in Fullerton, CA w/ all the guitar guys. Grew up there in the 60s when Leo was still at it very well.

Visiting Leo was an event. He'd let us hang out and just let the history-in-the-making soak on in.

I probably should have hung out at the Steinway factory, but it's not in Fullerton - so, onward to Leo's

What a man! He loved youngdreaming musicians.
