Hi John ....

Down here ?? Yep, guilty as charged. From the land where we drive on the left and flick our wall switches down to turn on the lights ...

So far, I've given Endless Wire one listen, but I will come back in again after the 2nd and/or 3rd to give my opinion once again. Believe it or not, I liked the album pretty much so far, and my first impression was that it wasn't as bad as I was worried it was going to be. I liked it more than I thought I would, but I need to listen to it a couple of more times for the material to officially sink in. So far, the album sounds merely like a different side of Gord, rather than a dud, but I will get back to you folks after the 2nd or 3rd listen.

I also got Cold On The Shoulder today, but I haven't listened to that one yet. I will very shortly.

what state is Mike in??
a state of some confusion I'll wager I had looked at his profile and therefore noted that he was in Melbourne along with you Mende Ron and Peter. The Last time I investigated Melbourne was in Victoria, but since Steve up there in Sydney (or is that down there in Sydney) seems intent on turning the world upside down perhaps Melbourne has now moved??
John Fowles.
P.S. Mike point regarding wall switches is well taken after 5 yeare in the U S of A I still get caught out by the fact that here the switches
are indeed upside dowe unlike the UK and obviously Australia. Must be something to do with driving on the wrong side of the road here due to the overbearing French influence back in the mid 1700's.OK OK I'd better as a new American now shut up as this is after all independance day!!!

Thanks Bill !!

It's a LOOONNNG way away, but most people just love it .... we have one of your navy vessels down here on shore leave at the moment and in a TV news interview with the crew, their "first port of call" is the local zoo to see the koalas, the wombats and the 'roos.

When Bette Midler toured here in (if I recall correctly) 1978, she went back to the States minus six of her roadies ... they decided to stay on permanently .... Bette put it down to the beer

John, driving on the right hand side of the road is one thing ... but sitting in the left seat just makes it all the more weird ..... I drove once from SFO to San Diego and it isn't something I'd recommend for the faint hearted. The concentration levels required to override your natural driving (RH seat / LS road)instincts really take it out of you.
