1 thing that's bothers me is, well for example, I mentioned the info in my post GL aniversaries at some other message boards all I get is I love Sundown, IYCRMM, or the Edmundfitzgerald song. Now don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be opinionated and unless 1 owns any of his albums, all they will know is mostly the hits. But I'm sure there are many others in the internet world who do and you hope you can find others like us who know more than the hit singles. I've been fortunate my parents have some old LP's which allowed me to know more of his work. once I mentioned BDIJ and the conterversy behind it on an Oldies board when somebody mentioned him and the person found it interesting. But on a 70s yahoo group which I could only mentioned 70s releated stuff about him, I mentioned the IYCRRM LP and how it was renamed that after the single was released, even mentioned his version of Me and Bobby Mcgee and instead of how interesting, it's Oh I love so and so and so and so.
Once again I'm not trying to disrespect others opinions if the hits are either all they like or all they know but it would be nice if I could find those who know more or take interest in any of the trivia I put down.

Well, then you've come to the right place! Because here is where you'll find people who are interested in what you have to say about GL!! I think people who hang out at a 70's web site probably just want to relive their "glory days" more than reminisce about a specific songwriter's songs and talk about them. I could be wrong.

I'm a member of the rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic newsgroup, or rmmga for short, and most people on that group know quite a bit about Gord's music. Of course, they have something in common with him. They play guitars.
Really, his name comes up quite often on rmmga, and for some reason, if someone asks a question about how to play a Lightfoot tune, that person gets about 50 identical replies, "Ask Cathy!"

Gee, I can't imagine why! :D I'll have to go back to my files of Cathy renditions of SFAWN or Heaven Help The Devil or any number of other songs and see if I can figure that one out
