Hi Gordy Fans,
I am new to this site and i was hoping to meet others that enjoy Mr.Lightfoot's music as much as i do. So are there any place where i can find out if a Gordon Lightfoot concert might come to California?

Welcome! You made it here quickly!! LOL
Yes, he's coming our way, Steph!! Go to www.lightfoot.ca, click on Tour Dates, then click on Tour Schedule, then click on the Year (2005), and you'll see it! It's Wayne Francis's site -- it's probably the most updated GL site for tour information. It's an informational site. It'll tell you where he's touring, then you just google for the location of the event and contact them for your tickets. Better hurry!

Well most of us are die-hard Lightheads but probably only a few would say in their profile that their "interests" were only
"Gordon Lightfoot Music" so you should fit in here just fine!! Anything you want to knmow such as how to increase your Gord CD collection beyond the Gord's Gold album you said you had in your Yahoo fan club:- http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group...ghtfootfanclub message
just ask and you'll get barrage of advice or replies. You now know the URL of the other major information site where Wayne Francis in his January "commentary" has again alluded to the anticipated Massey Hall Toronto season as being in May 2005.
You can use the search facility on this section to look for previous postings on corfid and you might also like to look at the Newsgroup (alt.music.lightfoot) that Wayne started back in 1994.This is now run by Google groups and has recently been immensely improved so that postings to a thread appear momentarily rather than several hours later and it has a nearly complete searchable archive going back to the beginning. there is not as much activity over there as here though but a similar group of like-minded individuals.
I have devised an easy to use/remember short address (URL) for the Newsgroup:-
http://www.newsgroup.shorturl.com
the equivalent one to bring you back here is http://www.corfid.shorturl.com
if you fancy direct real time typing contact with some of us drop in to the chat room any Friday evening at 9pm EST
Full details are on my site's page at:- http://johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/chat/
Plus a short succinct entry only address:- http://www.chatlink.notlong.com

thank you one and all for the warm welcome, yes i do wish to expand my collection of Gordy's music. It is hard for me to find his music because not all record stores have it in stock or i am told "nobody listens to Lightfoot's music" ( that makes me mad when I hear that), so i have to order them. I am really happy that I was able to keep Gord's Gold away from my brother ( he would never return it to me). Thanks for all the useful info.
