I have been reading your "You know your a Gord Fanatic When" topic on your discussion forum, and it brought me a new great topic that we can play with.

Now finish the sentence when I say "You know you're obsessed and fixated with Lightfoot, and you need a life and therapy when....."

Anybody that has a real life knows that life can be a real tough thing,as a lot of bad things happen to good people. A lot of good people turn to quality music to provide a "constant" in their lives.I personally like to use positive music,in large quantities,to help offset all the negative things that life throws my way. Could I live without quality music in my life? Sure, but it wouldn't be a very happy life. This thread insinuates that because we are somewhat obsessed with something that's high quality and has a long history of being high quality entertainment and that we go out of our way to deeply involve ourselves with it, that we don't have a real life. Gord's music and the music of many others is medicine for the mind and in some ways a special kind of therapy for people who have the ability to love and care and dream. Some people have the ability to seek out, find and recognize good things to add to their lives. I'm proud to say that I battle "the creatures of evil" every day in this real life that I lead and that Gord and many others are at my side.

I think it's just a fun thread to play with - we all make fun of ourselves with the "same old obsession" but it is never meant in a mean spirited way - at least not on any Lightfoot sites that I am on! Now in my real life I get questioned about it in a way I find very demeaning and those people are set straight in short order and in no uncertain terms!
off to the therapist- Lightfoot on the stereo, fireplace blazing, a glass of wine and a good book!
