I Recently bought Maynard Collins 1988 biography on Gord from ebay. There are some interesting stories in here new to me, though it doesn't discuss the music too much.(one of his finest, "Don Quixote", doesn't get a mention!) Gord is actually acknowledged by the author for his help, which surprises me, because the writer is quite critical of Gord alot of the time. Has Gord ever commented on this book in the past?

Re the Maynard Collins book which is often on offer on ebay
try:-

http://ww.ebaylightfoot.shorturl.com
As always this subject has cropped up often on the Newsgroup alt.music.lightfoot
I just did a quick looksee and the search link is:- http://groups.google.com/groups?q=maynard+collins+group:a lt.music.lightfoot&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&start=10&sa=N
there are severakl good threads listed there which will give you chapter and verse on what Gord thought about the book
But aside from that many thanks for getting me to do that search Dan as one of the threads it brought up was a posting by Yuri Amatnieks re the album Early Lightfoot for which I have been attempting to get a scan of the album sleeve back Yuri's posting contained sufficient info on the album sleeve's back cover and its contents for my purposes

Of course the writer's going to be critical. It's a good way (however sleazy you may find it) to sell books. He's afraid that just writing about Gords life & times aren't enough,so he has to throw in his opinion. You would think of course that a writer (who's just like a reporter) would be a bit more objective. That,of course,is just my opinion.

This is why I keep saying that Lightfoot should right an autobiography. I have the mentioned biography and also thought that Maynard Collins approached it like a news reporter would a cover story.
