Are you the same John Fowles who lived and worked in Gibraltar a few years ago. And was in the Queens Reg.many years ago.? if so we know each other very well and have worked together.If so , I never knew was a Lightfoot fan ..

Sorry Tony no the nearest I ever went to "the Rock" was Majorca,

you will see a link to a page on the novelist that I wrote after a number of students from Florida had contacted me by email thinking I could help them in their literary studies!! There is also a John Fowles in California who pre-empted the obvious hotmail email address so that I had to settle for fowlesjohn@hotmail.com.And yet another Californian (or possibly the same one) in 2001 when I wished to register my own web site domain had johnfowles.com and someone else in the UK had taken johnfowles.co.uk so I settled on my org.uk domain. Since then another John Fowles "(not the writer but another one!) a bowler Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England." signed my site's guest book on October 23 last year so I'll copy this to him in case he happens to be your lost mate
