Gloria Estefan couldn't do "The First Time..."?

She's just as good at doing ballads as she is with the upbeat material. Ever heard "Here We Are","Don't Wanna Lose You" and "Anything For You"?

No,I imagined Rod Stewart's voice and him singing "P.W.-C.T" but it doesn't sound very good. He's better with pop & rock and I only like his ballads,"You're In My Heart" & "Broken Arrow".

That may seem AC to you but most radio people think of Gordon that way anyhow. Better her than Courtney Love or Britney Spears!

Hmmmmmm....how about ultra-noisy ( & scary )Slipknot doing "Gotta Get Away" or "Fading Away"?? :D :D LOL!

The above mention of Rod Stewart reminded me that I'd love to hear Gord cover "Windy Town". Both Chris Rea and Rod have excellent cover versions of this song (by James Harris III and Terry Lewis), and Gord's voice would suit it perfectly.

On the flipside, I'd like to hear Rod Stewart cover "Somewhere USA", with a return to his cheeky, wayward ways.

Suggesting that Gord do "Tip Toe Through The Tulips" (tee-hee, tee-hee) is a bad joke. A "seriously" bad joke. Have more respect.

I note that nobody has yet dared to suggest Barbra Streisand!!

I was very surprised to find this

on:-
http://www.barbra-archives.com/Recor...nd_vaults.html
Surprised because Wayne's self-admiitedly not quite 100% "Covers" coverage at
http://www.lightfoot.ca/covartst.htm
lists only
IYCRMM
I actually quite like Barbra's singing on IYCRMM and I have 2 of her vinyl albums both of which I rather like especially the great album "Guilty"

that she made with Barry Gibb when like others including Dionne War-wick she became a temporary Bee Gee!!

Actually,on Streisand's 1970/71 LP "Stoney End" she (big surprise) covers "IYCRMM".

I just listened to a snippett online and well,it's "nice" but you'd have to be the most sentimental guy on the face of the earth to really like it. :D

Like Olivia N.J. ,she sings it from the female perspective but in comparing those two,Barbra's is better.

Something really surprising,On the follow up LP "Barbra Joan Streisand",she does John Lennon's,"Mother".
Actually,it's not bad.
