It's incredible, they want to buy and eat fresh lobster... [/QB]

omigawd i remember when we were down east for vacation back in 79 I think. We ate fresh caught lobster, fresh picked potatoes and corn till the cows came home....We even had fresh steak!! - we were camping all over NB, PEI, Cape Breton and NS and those dinners were to die for....We really outdid it in PEI tho - what a meal.....better than any restaurant we went to down there...and we ate at some good ones! I'm sure we listened to Lightfoot in the car on cassette along with the local music playing on the radio. We didn't have CD players or IPods - it was the radio/cassettes or nothing!
LOL

I would have liked to hear Pete Seeger in his younger days do some Lightfoot. As for today's artists I think Don McLean could do a great rendition of "Beautiful" "Don Quixote" and even "Boss Man"

Don Mclean, now there's a signer that I haven't heard of for awhile. I agree especially on Beautiful. "The Day The Music Died". Great tribute to Buddy Holly and Co.
Hey zoneranger, anymore great album covers coming up, really enjoy them...Jesse.

I watched a Josh Groban concert on TV last winter. I agree with you. I think he'd do a great version of IYCRMM. Another one that would suit him is Softly. It has a wide vocal range, and he has a voice that wouldn't have any trouble hitting the high notes.

Gord likes Willy Nelson? How about Willy doing a version of On Redwood Hill? Sounds about right, maybe 10 years ago.

hi char
actually, it's doubtful that anything can fix miguel for us...we're of one mind on that...
Although I do like the idea of john mellencamp giving sundown a go...

to swim the river
'Cause you've done that before
sorry to be swimming against the tide here but I have always found Miguel a wonderful song.I have a pretty good off BBC television sound only 1972 recording that is just amazing. it followed a really "stonking" version of "Farewell To Nova Scotia", which I wish Gord would record,

Miguel is a great song. Just about the only song I do not like on that album, well I shouldn't say dont like, like the least is the title track, "Summer Side Of Life." Overly produced, as if, Foster had something to do with it.

Never heard of Josh Groban. Willie Nelson doing any Lightfoot song would be interesting. He's great.

It's cooling off here too, thank goodness. I hope it lasts throughout the week. We're going on a mini-retreat to Starved Rock this upcoming weekend; can't wait to hit the trails and chill out overlooking the bluffs and ravines. I wonder if we'll spot any eagles? It's supposed to be a good year for it.
I could totally hear Bocelli covering a few of those Lightfoot ballads. Nice voice!
I would love to hear a woman cover "For Lovin Me". I think Shania could pull that off nicely, she's got just the right amount of sass to do it
