Something kind of cool happened to me today. I work in a government office, and there was this guy at the counter talking to one of the other ladies in my office, and I overheard him saying that "I work on the Great Lakes, and I'll be leaving tomorrow for about 6 weeks." It definitely got my attention, especially with the anniversary of the E.F. having just passed last week. I wanted to jump up and ask him more, but I didn't. I'd say he was in his late 50s. Oh, and the reason it's so strange, is that we're about 6 hours away from Lake Superior, and I'd say 4 or 5 hours away from Lake Michigan. I thought to myself--how ironic! It was a first for me!
