it's too bad the CBC site doesnt show more of that episode to others could enjoy… here is a bit more that included the great studio recording bits… John Simon is likely the producer in the booth, chatting with Gord, Red and John

Both videos are excellent. Nothing like watching the history of Gordon, except for being there live..

James, I can't thank you enough for this!

I remember that show so very well from when it was first aired. The technology to video tape it from the TV had not yet arrived in that day so I just made an audio tape recording of it and still have it in my Gord collection.

I remember seeing it advertised in the TV guide magazine and started counting off the hours and minutes till it came on.

I was already sold on the music of Gordon Lightfoot at that time so needless to say I was in seventh heaven watching this show.

After listening to Gord talk so meaningful about the country where he grew up and all it's surrounding beauty I was so inspired to travel up that way still go there when the opportunity arises. It truly gives me a wonderful feeling driving there and listening to all those great tunes in the car,; "Sixteen Miles,The Long River," all that early stuff. Just takes me into another world totally.

And I'm goin' again real soon. November is Gordon Lightfoot month this year!
