When were we rude to you, Stephen? We knew of your impairment before you ever came. I must say though, I think it was harder to understand you when you spoke so slow that I almost needed a nap before the sentence was finished. I realize you have difficulty speaking English, but I am sure we could have found an Aboriginal speaking person to translate.

Actually you donot have to even open that link brcause the date 1991 is included in the caption of the photo on that page and if you hover your mouse's cursor over the picture a helpful popup pops up that makes it even morre legible. See the attached screenshot

Whilst posting I must point out that having opened two of your amazing videos Char on YouTube in order to be able to watch them full screen I could not help notiicing that in your "caption" for both you mentioned a "Ricky" Haynes. Who he??
Seriously your camera takes seriously good video and although I cannot readily refind it using the somewhat inefficient corfid search system I am pretty sure that you recently said that it was a Canon Powershot model. Also when I try to use my own Nikon Coolpix to take flashless photos they are invariably blurred due to hand shake yet your Canon takes great and steady flashless still pix too

Re: Lightfoot to perform @ Benefit-Renascent House
I'll check my info - must be a typo..
My camera is a CANON Power Shot SX220 HS, 14X Optical Zoom with a stabilizer function. New models this year have higher optical zoom. It really is quite a good camera for it's zoom function and sound on videos as well. (Youtube also offers the ability to take the 'shake' out of your video as well as to lighten them)

Re: Lightfoot to perform @ Benefit-Renascent House
7/1992 - video @ https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/1076205123732
"Let the beautiful place be open." With those words, Gordon Lightfoot officially opens Renascent House, a rehabilitation clinic for alcoholics in downtown Toronto. In this CBC Television clip, Lightfoot says he has a personal reason for making the rare public appearance. "I have a history of similar problems of my own," the singer says. Lightfoot says he was not lucky enough to have a facility like Renascent House when he stopped drinking many years ago.
In a 1975 interview, the CBC's Elwood Glover asked Lightfoot how he remained so prolific as a songwriter. "I find that the odd drink helps," joked Lightfoot. Lightfoot battled alcoholism throughout his career before finally beating his addiction in 1982.
. Lightfoot told the Toronto Sun in 1996 that his trouble started in 1972 when he mixed alcohol with medication for temporary facial paralysis. Before making a record or going on tour he would dry out by going on long, alcohol-free canoe trips through Northern Canada. "One of the main reasons I gave up drinking was that my writing had slowed to a crawl," he said.

Renascent honors contributors with Peter Armstrong Community Award of Excellence
On June 8 Renascent honored 10 people who’ve made outstanding contributions to advancing the understanding of addiction as a treatable disease with the inauguration of the Peter Armstrong Community Award of Excellence. Recipients were recognized at Renascent’s annual Guardian Angel donor luncheon.
“The event is meant to honor those who’ve made inspirational contributions and changed the lives of others who may not have otherwise been able to access treatment,” said Dr. Patrick Smith, CEO of Renascent. “Recipients of the award volunteer their time and contribute to a greater understanding of addiction as a treatable disease.”
This year’s honored guests include Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot for his longstanding philanthropic support of Renascent, and Oliver and Sebastian Pigott for contributing their original song Walk you to the Water for Renascent’s anti-stigma campaign. Renascent also recognized Ellen Campbell, Teresa Kruze and Sanderson Layng for their innovative production of Living Clean Living Well call-in television show.
“I can speak for both my brother and myself when I say we are honored, humbled and thankful to receive the Peter Armstrong Community Award of Excellence,” said Oliver Pigott, one half of the Pigott Brothers. “Renascent provides an important service to people throughout the GTA and we are proud to be a part of their anti-stigma campaign.”
The Guardian Angel luncheon event was held in the Regency Room at Toronto’s Granite Club located on a beautiful 22 acre site on Bayview Avenue, bordering on the Don Valley.
