Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
OK I held out as long as I could... then I pre-ordered it with release date delivery. Now I'm sure there's someone who will get an early copy of it out there, let me know when you do - please?

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Looking forward to it.
As an instrumentalist, "live" recordings are always good to catch technique bits, guitar or vocal, with no studio "enhancements." Sitting around the living room with my 3 guitars and a guitar playing friend that enjoys playing lead, live recordings can be great to listen to. Its fun to be able to catch that little something that you can use, or adapt, to blend your guitar sounds better.

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
I find it a bit ironic that GL is releasing another version of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald with the "old" lyric...

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Hi Everyone!
My first post,(LONG time GL fan and recent appreciative Corfid lurker!!!). I've been out of commission for the past couple of days and found a VM letting me know that the CD release date was pushed back. As soon as I could reach the puter, I jumped right on to get the story!
Am I missing it? What happened???
Thanks ;-)

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
probably changes in title and cover artwork caused the delay..

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Thanks for the info, Char! Wonder why the change in the title; do you know if all recordings are still from Massey concerts?

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Wow! Hooray!
Maybe "they" would consider coming out with another "GL Massey Memories" with the tunes mentioned in the comments.
Love ya Gordie! MaryO

The lyric change came after this recording but I agree. It's not ironic. It's dumb. Why not lift the audio from last years DVD recording.
Anyone liking these mixes? Can't hear any jingle jangle of guitars. Gord vocal is certainly up in the mix. And we are in control of the Massey volume!

Re: PRESS RELEASE - CD songlist and cover picture
I, too, find it strange that the album title has changed from "Massey Moments: All Live" to just "All Live". I would have assumed something non-Massey had been added, but Char has said that is not the case. To me, the title "All Live" is very vague and unoriginal. Surely it could at least have been "Live in Toronto" or even "Live in Canada".

Seems like fairly normal marketing Dave. Just like I will avoid anything with the mention of Pittsburgh on it I would think they were trying to make the appeal more universal, if you will allow. Just my opinion but I'm almost always right, LOL. (jk)
On a happy note when I ran home at lunch time my copy was waiting for me. I played the first minute, sounded great so far. But I was puzzled by the sticker on the outide touting the fact that all the selections were from "1998 - 2001" like that was a big plus. Oh well - I'm looking forward to playing it tonight and getting it on the iPod.

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
OK I'm at tune # 15 CRT and I have to admit I like this CD quite a bit. Sort of fun having a "new" Lightfoot CD in the player. Lizanne just walked in started singing along... no questions... no "what's that you've got there?" just smiling and singing. Good times!
Peace,
Bill

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Well it's on the iPod and I have to say it's worth listening to. Am I a day late and a dollar short or did I get my copy early? Anyone else listening to a retail copy yet?

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Amazon.com never updated the release date from 4/17, so they started shipping last Friday (for those ordered for day of release delivery/2 day), and have continued to ship the rest. I suspect that all pre-orders from Amazon.com are on their way or at their destination.

Our local Best Buy told me they weren't even going to stock it.

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Mine arrived from Amazon.com today! Just brought it in from the mailbox, so I have not even ripped off the shrink wrap yet. I love anything new from Gord...even if it is old stuff, so I am pretty sure I will be very happy with this.
I am driving down to Austin on Friday for the Johnny Cash tribute, so I probably won't really get to listen to it until then, but I am really happy it showed up today!

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Got mine from Amazon on the 17th.
On the whole I believe the mix is fine. As I said before, a live mix is nice to pick up on a few technique bits. I'm always interested how Gord can vary his 12 string play from a quiet rhythum to a good "12 string ring." It is harder than it sounds.
I would have liked a bit more audience interaction/chatter to go with the "live" recordings and, of course, you've got the shortened songs with some stanzas cut.
Welcome Suze!

Mine arrived while I was gone last week (Vegas, baby!) and I'll already burned it to my computer so I can listen while I work. Sigh....

Re: PRESS RELASE - CD songlist and cover picture
Ordered through Amazon UK - was originally meant to ship today, but had an email pushing it back to between 21 and 29 May - not too bothered, given that the previous fastest time I've had a Gord album (Harmony) was 5 years after release I'll be alright (pun intended!)
