Meaning, aside from Read My Mind,Sundown,Carefree H. , Rainy Day People , Wreck and Circle Is Small....
what GL tracks have you unexpectedly heard, like in a mall or grocery store or some public outing place?
Not long ago over a satellite system , in a place near the shopping mall,I heard "The Pony Man". That is , the original 70s version. If it had been the 1988 one,I'd have been astounded.
How about you guys?

In 1987, I was driving from Red Deer to Calgary to catch Lightfoot's matinee show at the Jubillee. A radio station from I think Drumheller was playing one song aftyer another of Gord's tunes. Many of them were non-hits, almost like an FM album-oriented radio station from years gone by. Of course I can't remember all the titles but Sea Of Tranquility and Same Old Obsession were played, which were not huge radio-played songs in their day.

I should also mention that in 1988 when GG Vol II appeared, Alberta Bound from that record was played on the radio for a while - but that song WAS a hit in it's original form...

In Grand Rapids, Michigan, around 1982, I was surprised when "Now and Then" came on the radio. In California (around 1991) I heard "All the Lovely Ladies" on an FM station. It's funny how those two occasions stuck in my mind.

last night as I pulled into my driveway after work, "If You Could Read My Mind" came on my car radio...While that is a much played hit, the first song on my radio when i got in the car to go back to work this morning is not... The same radio station that ended my day last night, began it with "Did SHe Mention My Name." just love that radio station...

The only non-hit GL song I can recall ever hearing on the radio was "My Little Love" played on a "diverse music" local NPR station in the late 90s.

I know of a radio station in Hagerstown, MD (AM 1240 WJEJ) that plays quite a few non-hit Gordon Lightfoot songs (especially in the evening). Here's a link to their website: http://www.wjejradio.com/ where you can listen to them live (just click on the radio in the upper left hand corner).
Besides Gordon, they also play a nice mix of music (both vocals and instrumentals) from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, plus a few current ones. There's rarely an evening goes by that they don't play at least one Gordie song- and not just the hits!
