Default and do they ever play baseball in stadiums designed for football?

saw a bit of the Army Navy game at Yankee Stadium on the tube...seemed to work

but never saw anything about how the Wrigley Field gimmick turned out

why didn't they just keep the rules the same, leave the brick wall as is and just give the players bigger, Great Gazoo-like helmets for the game?

maybe we should next try a basketball classic played in a hockey rink (on ice )

I guess it was quite a fiasco since they apparently knew the layout for months before the game, and found it necessary to change the rules 48 hours before. I did not see any of it but apparently it wasn't a huge factor. I would have been a little peeved if I had bought end zone seats thinking that I'd have half the scoring plays in front of me and finding out that all the scoring would take place at the far end of the field. I like your idea for basketball on ice. I also think golf would be much more interesting with a goalie stationed on each green.

You know The Bears use to play there at one time.

Don't know why I didn't look at the link above.

i didn't, thanks! i guess it had different dimensions back then. no?

thanks rm...i totally forgot about that but i did read about that back when i had a cool Sporting News book about ALL the past and present (at the time) ballparks...i got right into the trivia thing back when Pursuit came out but was also into baseball tidbits back when i was into the Expos and Red in early 70's and then prepping for Jays arrival a few years later...anyhow, the oddest thing i saw was hockey at Fenway last year...football or baseball on skates would be kinda cool

The Colorado Rockies played at Mile High Stadium for a time.
The Los Angeles Dodgers played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 1958-1961.
(It also effectively ended Duke Snider's career.)
The Florida Marlins played at Joe Robbie Stadium.
The Oakland A's still play at the Oakland Coliseum which opened in 1966 for the Raiders.

I am a West Coast guy, so I can't think of any others.
