Aurora, IL. Oct 15, 2010
I've checked with the box office at the Paramount Theatre...
I've been there a few times... twice for Lightfoot. A great venue!!!
Tickets go on sale July 13; the phone number is 630.896.6666
I'll be there one way or another...

I have that on my plans also... It's not to far from the Quad Cities. I was going to see Gordon there back in 2002... when everybody knows what happened next..

Kevin,
88 is almost a straight shot to Aurora from the Quad Cities! It's best if you have I-Pass.
A little long, but an easy drive. But I suppose you already know all this...
I think I'm going with the valet parking, as parking is the only real draw back to going to the Paramount.

Thanks Peter Bro 10 for the heads - up on the ticket sales date.
My family and I have seen Gord there twice and, of course, we are planning on going this time too.

For anyone from the Northeast who might make the trip (long, yes), EZ-Pass works too. I've been using it at the I294 toll in Illinois for a couple of years. Unlike most tolls along I95 and I90, the I-Pass tolls are at highway speed. Guess it will be 20 years before they upgrade the original ones in the Northeast.

Gord is hop-scotching around the St. Louis area this year. I'm hoping a St. Louis concert will drop into the schedule. The last one, in Oct 2008, was quite a success. Failing that, I may have to make the decision to drive the 5 hrs up to Aurora. Don't want to miss Gordon completely this year.

Re: Aurora, IL. Oct 15, 2010
I tried the super-top secret "Pre-Sale" offer today and found the seats offered were horrible!!!! AND they want to charge nearly $7.00 "convenience charge" on top of the $57.00 each for the seats!! I'm sort of irked by this because I got up in the middle of my sleep (I work nights) to try and grab some premium seats early.... These were worse than bad! The seating chart they displayed was pracitically useless.
There now, I feel better....
I'll call the Box Office tomorrow on the 13th (early) and talk to a real live person and select some decent seats I'm sure...
SO, IN SHORT, if you missed the "pre-sale" today you missed absolutely nothing! Much better off dealing with the Box Office folks.

Re: Aurora, IL. Oct 15, 2010
Got 'em!
6th row, left side section, seats 5 thru 8 off the left center aisle! Not too bad...
Took a good deal of lost (not much to begin with) sleep, but now I can relax and wait for the show!!!
Hope so meet up with some fellow Corfidians there.

Sorry the Pre-Sale offering was so poor Peter. I wonder what's up? Glad you got some decent seats from the Box Office. Enjoy the show!

Re: Aurora, IL. Oct 15, 2010
Hey Yuri,
It seems that every year is a "challenge" (seems I've been over-using that word lately) to get tickets early and so get the best possible seats. It's never as simple as call on a given date/ time and get 'em. it's usually chock full of mis-info, wrong dates, tied up phone lines, the list goes on........
But it's all worth it at showtime!
The next step is sending a letter to Gord to see if I can get backstage passes for my group! We'll see.
