Think this young lady will make it.
While maybe not a household name, she's quite well known of YT.
here's some song, 2 covers and one original.
John Legend's Orinary People.
Jason Mraz's Lucky.
Just In Time (original)
Hosanna_Hillsong United Cover.

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
When posting something I usually don't try to post a 2nd time to get an answer but with 42 views I must ask again, what do you all think about her and her music?
I never knew about the song "Lucky" till I saw her and Kris Mark's performance of it.
Matter of fact I commented saying " If it weren't for the both of you, I wouldn't of known about about that song.
Kris said he was greatfull he as Alyssa were and him were able to open my ears to some newgen. music.

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
The middle vid in an original and there's another on her YT site that's also an original though most of what she's posted are covers.
She finished recorded an LP though there's no mention so far of when it will be released.
She also has 1 song on I-Tunes or whatever it's called which is more of a hip-hop sound, which is not particularly my style but who knows what else she recorded.
She has a liking for soul, folk and rock so maybe she's does a little bit of everything.
Here's a clip made last year with her and her producer.
Is it just me or does it seem strange that he's doing all the talking and she hardly said anything?

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
Thought I'd post another.
The artist who did the original recording goes by the name of "Yael Naim."
Sort of has a 60's or early 70's sound though the song is not that old.

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
Alyssa Bernal Interview.
Though this is 2 years old I thought I'd post this anyhow.
http://www.youtrax.tv/chalyssa46215789461.htm
Unfortunatly I can't play this on my computer and found myself going to the library to watch this but the interview doesn't begin till the middle part I think.

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
Just thought I'd put up these recent clips she put up.
And no it's not a remake of the old Tommy Roe song.
Anyway, Notice she's not playig guitar on any of these and the 1st vid she says this guy Lyle, is her perminnant guitar player.
Wonder why?
I know there are plenty of singers who do play an instruments but don't while performing, and while I'm not exactly there's anything wrong with that. It just seems odd in her case considering how's most of her vids she does play guitar, along with the fact the previous vid she is playing guitar on stage.
Maybe it's nothing but I wonder if she's still lacking in confidence which I mentioned in that other thread
titled "How Do You Feel About This?"

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
We don't know if she is the one that made the choice on having someone else play the guitar. Hope it wasn't some weirdos choice.

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
You know I asked her in the "After Tonight cover and she said.
Because he's my new guitarest and I want to sing songs I can't play on the guitar."
So perhaps I jumped the gun and maybe still hasn't quite learned it all though she's been playing for 2 years and if you see some of the other stuff on her site, including the vids I posted, she seems to do well.
Another reason why I've suggested the lack of confidence is because in one past vid, which she doesn't have up on her site anymore, she doubted herself when in my opinion she played very well.
BTW:
How long does it take for one to learn guitar or any instrument for that matter?

I had a really dumb-ass response ready to go, but opted for the smart-ass one.

Yeah, I watched that and Smokey said basically the same thing I did. Stevie just picked it up and played it, and my response to AOTA was : "You should pick one up and find out". I fan no flames.

Re: Think this young lady will make it.
it was pretty funny..very cool to sit around like that and talk about stuff/music etc.
Jory Nash does a great rendition of Smokeys "Tracks of My Tears"..he loves Smokey-I'll pass the link along to him..
