Nashville and NC

Man, I hate that GL is touring so close but I just can't swing Winston-Salem or the Ryman due to work obligations. I grew up near Nashville and would love to see him there! Hope some of you go and sneak a video! My parents saw Hank Williams at the Ryman on his debut night back in the 50s...it is a magical place.

Hey Bill, I could not pass Nashville up...

When I was a BIG country music fan in my teens, I used to listen to the Opry every Saturday night... Never did make it down to see a show at the Ryman though. Had a tour of the Ryman many years ago... WHAT A PLACE...

When I saw that Lightfoot was gonna be there, I paid thru the nose for good seats. This is like a dream come true for me... Saturday night... Ryman... Gordon Lightfoot.

It is an eight hour drive for me but I am sure it will be worth it...

Anyone else from this site going to Nashville?

I have tickets about ten rows back...not sure if I will be able to use them (wife is quite ill with cancer). Probably won't know until the day of the show. Should be a wonderful evening!

I am very sorry to hear this. My wife just had a bout with breast cancer this past fall. There were some "hairy" moments, but it worked out and she is OK now.

I sincerely hope you will be able to make it.

Thank you very much everyone...it has been a long, hard road (5.5 years) and we got more bad news today (brain tumor recurrence). Kim postponed starting more chemo for a few days in 2007 to be able to go to the Nashville show with me that fall. She wants to go to this one, too and we are quite hopeful she will be up to it. She is not quite the GL fan I am, but enjoys his music very much. Best wishes to you all!
