When my older kids were little that was an absolute favorite.

I don't know if they had regional differences or what but back when it was on our local PBS you had Mookie Wilson and Keith Hernandez (then current Mets who at the time owned New York) in there for "put down the duckie" cameos.

over the years there have been new versions with other celebs.
I video taped a lot of Sesame Street (and Muppets) going back almost 25 years for my kids to watch whenever they wanted. They are grainy and slightly fuzzy but always a joy to watch. Youtube and dvd copies were yet to come....

You'd think I'd have been the one to say Happy 40th Sesame Street here or anywhere but hey, that's the way it's been lately.

I remember that clip and all the ones back to 1972. ( Age 4 )

Sesame first aired when I was only 1 year & 3 days shy of 5 months in 1969
but my oldest brother was lucky enough to be 5 then. My other brother was 2 yrs. 4 months & 8 days.

I think i watched that show everyday as a kid and then every chance I got into my teens. I believe I finally stopped in the early 90s. It had changed too much.

Happy to also say that a few weeks ago,I found an A+ copy of "Rubber Duckie" by Ernie (Jim Henson). The first record i ever had, bought for me by my mother of course. Hey!! I'm gonna go play it now!!! Later!!!!!

"Bert!! Bert"!! "Get that Perry Como of the record player"! "It's my turn"!!! LOL!

great, you're our man, B! can you elaborate on what the "Gordon Brightfoot" muppet character was all about and do you know of a photo or clip of him?

I never watched Sesame street, I don't think that was on CBC or CTV or CHCH, the only channels I got...but I do know who Ernie and Bert are and Kermit, all fun guys for sure

THe Gordon Bigfoot character would have been on the Canadian version of Sesame Street-aired in Canada only...
