Default Are there live recordings of Stay Loose etc?

Just wondering if anyone can direct me to live recordings of a few songs from my favourite Lightfoot album, East of Midnight. I've heard concert versions of some songs from that highly produced album, but never of Stay Loose, Anything For Love, Ecstasy Made Easy, You Just Gotta Be or A Passing Ship.

The only time I found - and not all the set lists are listed - is in Ames Iowa in 1987. It was so orchestrated that it is possible it didn't sound good in concert.

On the recording there is Sheree Jeacock singing harmony on 'Stay Loose' & it sounds real good. So I guess like brink said maybe they dont sound quite as good in concert.

I know he does 'East Of Midnight' with Terry on lead acoustic guitar, that one sounds really good, I like it better than on the record.

I heard a live bootleg of some of these songs before I heard the actual album and found the live, stripped down versions were much more effective than the record. I think A Lesson In Love is absolutely heartbreaking on the acoustic version, less so on the album.

"Stay Loose" never made it into a concert that I attended.

Morning Glory, East of Midnight, A Lesson in Love, and I'll Tag Along were played during concerts in the late 1980s and into the 1990s.

Several times when introducing "A Lesson in Love" Gord would say this is a song about "shrink alley" and "I don't know what this song is trying to say."

Gordon sometimes sat on a small bench alongside his mike during that time for some songs. I remember "A Lesson in Love" and "I'll Tag Along' done while Gord sat on a padded bench.

The one and only time I heard "Anything for Love" was in Minneapolis (June 1987). The performance consisted of Gord with no guitar just singing to the canned track. No one can ever say Gordon didn't try to reinvent himself. It just didn't work. He's never performed it since live when I've been there.

Gord started doing "Let it Ride" about 10 years ago and did it in Omaha (2009). Morning Glory was done Aurora, IL (2005). I think he did "I'll Tag Along" recently for Char and then she wasn't even at the concert !!

To me, "A Passing Ship" and "I'll Tag Along" are the gems from that album.

i don't see it mentioned yet here in replies but Stay Loose is the song he chose to perform live for his Hall of Fame induction eve during the Junos back in Toronto 1986
(ya know, the famous Bob Dylan intro)...Gord must have thought it sounded decent

lol, Lightfoot singing AFL to a canned track...truly priceless

he actually performed these two (in addition to Knotty Pine) for the Ian and Sylvia Reunion...however they got left on the cutting room floor when the TV broadcast version was being refined
