Default "Sundown" in 1974 jukebox website link

A friend in New York State just emailed me a series of Jukebox website links playing 20 songs from each year between the 1950s and 1979. Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown" is included in the 1974 link.

by the way, Melbourne's Age newspaper today included the following letter to the editor from a Mr Guy Freeman in the suburb of Newport:
"Between 1871 and 1875, the Canadian Pacific Railway was constructed over rivers, over and through the Rockies in the most extreme conditions. A distance of 4700Km (2900 miles) in four years. This government is going to take four years to build a railway of 55Km (from Melbourne's Southern Cross Station to the West Werribee district). That's progress."

LOL
The other day I was waiting at a GO station (train that runs along the lake from towns east of Toronto and all the way west thru the city to Hamilton).

I was in the shelter with a young girl, possibly around my daughters age of 21. We were expecting the train in about 4 to 5 minutes so passed the time as all Canadians do, talking about the crappy weather for this time of year. (Had it been great weather we would have talked about it too)

After what seemed like a VERY long 5 minutes and was actually more than 10 I started to say that if the train were delayed they should make announcements to folks waiting but was interrupted by just such an announcement. "Due to equipment problems the train would be delayed for another 10 minutes."

The young lady then gave me such a surprise!
She said "it's amazing that there is even a railroad that goes across the country from Pacific to Atlantic. When you think of the men, mostly Chinese, who did all the labour by hand with barely any machinery like they do today it seems impossible - and that it was done in only 4 years is crazy!"

Well she never mentioned CRT or Lightfoot but knowing what is taught here in the Ontario school curriculum I knew that she had learned about the making of our railway in her history book by reading that one page with a pic of Lightfoot and the lyrics to CRT on it.

I just smiled and said, "yes it's amazing and it's also good to know that young Canadians like her learned and remembered the history of this country and what it took to build it."

Then we bitched about the lousy weather some more.

WOW That "jukebox" website is an uncredible find Dave
I wanted to reply here but I found that I had strayed off topic somewhat so rather than incur everbody's ire I have started a new Small Talk Topic with the same subject
