I think we have heard that song sung a hundred different ways and I like it each time.
Maybe it's the song more than who sings it?

Hi Jesse,
Early Morning Rain is one of those great songs that either gender can sing and it sounds great.
I LOVE the Eva Cassidy version..such a beautiful voice and guitar in her cover.
It's all good, my friend. That song just goes right to your heart no matter who sings it.

The best version that I heard up to this day is by Canadian Idol finalist a few years ago, Elena Juatco. Ang Mr. Gordon Lightfoot was in the audience w/ daughter Meredith & friend. I had posted it earlier but will put it here again for you to know who she is... 
BTW the following night she was voted off ??? Never did understand that one !

Hi Jesse,
Yes, that young Idol singer has an amazing voice. It's hard to believe that she got voted off  I would think she would have a future in music regardless of them giving her the boot.
The Elvis Presley cover is good, too. He has a pretty good voice.
There is something about the guy that reminds me of a Southpark character...lol.
It's his expressions or the way he scrunches his face up...not being mean, it's just kind of cute and funny.

imo, she struggled in a few other genres but did well considering her competition--- definitely had the most personality of the lot and as a result ended up with a job as CTV entertainment correspondent
still think the most under rated 'booted off' was on CI1, Klippert
i confess, i enjoy PVRing, then sifting through CI/AI shows

Thanks for the information, jj. It's nice to know that Elena ended up with a good job out of the deal.
Billy can sing Nice version of IYCRMM...very enjoyable to hear.
I will be glad when American Idol starts it's shows again. I miss it.
Not much good tv lately.
Yes, Jesse Joe...I think if someone is singing Gordon Lightfoot it should automatically give them extra points...lol. He is brilliant.

Joseph Cormier is the singer, a great voice for sure. I know it's not JP Cormier... I know a Joe Cormier that sings and plays guitar, but it is not him either. ???
