103.9 The Hawk Wooodstock ON
This is the station I listen to in my garage when I'm working, I noticed they have changed their format somewhat, anyway they are now playing most of the old Lightfoot radio staples including the Wreck!
The other day I heard the unmistakable intro of the Wreck and reached over and cranked my stereo up... it was during McArthur in the morning, and this is what he said, " that was Gordon Lightfoot, a Canadian recording artist who deserves more radio recognition than what he presently gets"
Just about fell off my chair, it had been a good 20 years or more since I last heard the Wreck on the radio up here.

Re: 103.9 The Hawk Wooodstock ON
Gord, put on AM 740 (I like waking/shaving up to old classics) and you will hear a GL tune every morning, if not every other hour...I heard Spin Spin and Ribbon of Darkness earlier...it's not FM and the dj is a little older and targeting seniors judging by his humour but it reminds me of the days back when CFRB played music rather than talk talk...I left when Wally Crouter left
I'll check out the hawk for sure, thanks

You shave?
lol
anyway - it was so nice to sit on the deck and to hear Lightfoot on the radio down in Deep Cove, Nova Scotia - also on the car radio a few times while driving The Lighthouse Route, the station "On The TV" played his tunes - and of course the CD's I have given my cousin..
If there'd been a Lightfoot concert to attend whilst we were down east it would have been an even more perfect holiday!

yeah, and lotsa Aglukark, lol
hey if there was a 70s Folk I'd tune in but that one is called 70's BackTrax (and has a lot of bad music, lol....but I do listen and enjoy the memories it stirs up )
here's what Roots stuff is playing, it's nice to know in advance:
