Re: massey
OK forgeddabout it. I realised later that I had been looking at the wrong month. In explanation my mind was full of the fact that the touring year begins in Florida in February. Silly old moo! Thanks everybody for telling me the error of my ways!!
Well that was rather waste of time and space!!!
I looked at the Roy Thompson/Massey Hall site and got up their February calendar
Somewhat disconcertaingly I found two potential clashes for occupancy of the hallowed stage during Gord's season this year:-
DRUM!
Massey Hall
$59.50-$29.50
February 8, 2008 8:00 PM
Four cultures, four rhythms, one heart! Nova Scotia's spectacular musical production featuring 20 musicians, dancers, drummers, and singers from four of the principle cultures – Black, Acadian, Aboriginal, and Celtic – brought together in a heart-pumping fusion of music, dance, poetry, video, rhythm, and song.
it' gonna be a crowded noisy night folks
Not only that but...
Video Games Live
Massey Hall
$79.50 - $39.50
February 9, 2008 8:00 PM
Video Games Live is an immersive concert event created by the video game industry. The production features the best game music – from Halo and Tomb Raider to Zelda and World of Warcraft – performed by top orchestras and choirs with synchronized lighting, video, live action and audience interactivity.
so there you have it a choice MAYBE between Gord and a rowdy lot from Jesse Joe's locality or else a peep possibly at Lara Croft. I hope somebody sorts it out long before then. Meanwhile as you can see from the presented pictures there seems to be precious little room for Gord's small Orchestra to fit onto the same stage!!
What a way to run a railway!!
One other stoopid point while I am at it. I joined the friends of Massey Hall specifically to get the soonest possible word on upcoming GL concerts and ticket sales and for the last 18 months or more I have been getting regular and mildly boring phone calls from an automated female telling me all about new shows that I have absolutely no interest in and when their tickets will go on sale.
.
Has she bothered to let me know about the alleged May GL dates??
Not on your nelly no

T.G.,
I am not sure why, but they changed the date since it was first posted yesterday.

Re: massey
Um, it was changed because it was incorrect. (Smile, please). I believe that 1/21 will be the on sale date to members (Friends First), and 1/28 will be the public on sale date. However, that's just my guess because both dates have been mentioned.
This will all be clarified when the official announcement is made. I will post it on my web site as soon as I get it.

Re: massey
GORDON LIGHTFOOT
May 7, 8, 9 & 10, 2008 at 8pm
Massey Hall | $75.00 - $45.00
Bob Dylan calls Gordon Lightfoot one of his favourite songwriters – a fine tribute to a legacy that is still being written. In a career spanning more than 35 years, the Canadian folk legend has recorded over 200 songs, written many more, and influenced the sound of so many highly successful artists.
Call 416-872-4255 to join FriendsFirst and purchase tickets before the general public.
