Google alerts brought me today a link to a review of Mark Knopfler's fifth solo album "Kill to Get Crimson"

I had the great pleasure to attend one concert in the 1985 tour of that name, which was at the Showering Pavilion at the Royal Bath and West Showground near Shepton Mallet (Somerset England), whose "ground floor offers an area 1,858sqm (20,000sqft) of pillar free space". this space is most often used for exhibitions and auctions of cattle
At that concert there were no obvious cows on display nor any seats so the entire audience simply stood or walked around at will, I was therefore able stand right next to the stage for a while and observe Mark very closeup, that was the very best music concert I ever saw after the

another link beyond this article between Mark and Gord is that when I first played the very last vinyl album I ever bought which just so happenned to be the last Dire Straits album. 1991's "On Every street"
I was astounded that the bridging guitar solo on one track (I can't remember which and I do not have a turntable handy to check) is a dead ringer for that on "Gotta Get Away", so much so that I once recorded the relevant portions of both back to back and it was then dificult to hear the join. I have a long intended project to digitise some of my favourite vinyl albums and when I do this album will be one of the first. Then I'll redo the twin as an mp3 .Another project is to thoroughly learn the procedure and programs for making DVDs from VHS (and Betamax) video tapes (I have the two hugely enjoyable tapes in PAL Betamax albeit Mono of the Dire Straits Live concert Alchemy
Amazon.com says the DVD is currently not available which is a shame
but a google revealed at least two sources at reasonable prices so if my DVD activities fail I'll go there
