the song in question, Morning Dew witch was recorded by tim Rose The Greatfull Dead, and The Jeff Beck Groups with Rod Stewart on lead vocals. who originally wrote this song? i iquired about this on another music group and all i rememeber the artist was Canadian. also both The Greatfull dead's and Roses version were from 1967. but witch 1 came 1st. otherwise TJBG's version was off their 1968 truth album.

Morning Dew
"Morning Dew" is song about the nuclear race was written by Canadian singer and songwriter Bonnie Dobson. The Grateful Dead introduced the song at a concert in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on January 14, 1967. Smartly, the song stayed in their repertoire throughout their career. One of the charms of the Grateful Dead's interpretation of "Morning Dew" is the dynamics it encompasses. The way the mood of the song swifts back and forth from quiet to energetic is magical. But no more brilliant than the way they build up to the climatic peak to end the song.

I'm listening to the original recording witch I've heard a few times. the version is a live 1 though I'm wondering if there's a studio version of it as well? Even though most artists have studio versions of their songs but not in all cases.
