Hello all,

A puzzling Gordon Lightfoot clue was used in a contest on Canadian radio and I would appreciate any help you can provide. The three clues that were provided will describe something uniquely Icelandic of Iceland).

The Lightfoot clue was a snippet of "The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald." Does anyone know of a connection to the country of Iceland that Gordon or the SS Edmond Fitzgerald may have?

Thanks,
Mark

No, but we know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours....
Seriously, all I could think of was the sinking of the Bismarck somewhere near Iceland's shores. But when I Googled and checked dates and facts about the wreck, I couldn't find a thing that's relevant to the Ed Fitz.

Sorry. Maybe Auburn Annie can come up with something. She's much better at researching these things than I am.

You mentioned that the contest used three clues, one of which was a snippet from the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Perhaps you might post what the other two clues were, in addition to which lyrics from the song were used. I think this would help people come up with an answer for you.

I can post this back to the GL Fan Club. I'm just the messenger here. I don't know the other clues either.

Cheers,
David
