My dad is a massive Gordon Lightfoot fan and as a birthday treat I would love to take him to a gig. Does anybody know of Gordon's UK & Ireland tour dates for 2004?
Please e-mail list to jacmac32@hotmail.com

Many thanks!

Hi Jacqui and welcome to this board. If you take a look at any number of topics here you will discover that Gordon had a serious illness in September 2002 from which he is thankfully recovering with an avowed ambition of doing some concerts in Canada
later this year. As far as the UK and/or Ireland is concerned even before misguided terrorists made a mess of the world Gord was known to be loathe to risk flying the Atlantic again. So sorry to say for a large number of fans over there it is extremely unlikely that he will ever tour in the UK or Ireland again. The only solution is to keep looking here and wait for news of his widely anticipated next series of concerts at his home Massey Hall Toronto at which time there will be another incredible fan convention. So you will have to start a substantial savings plan for your father's air fare. May I suggest that you make yourself known to one of the UK's other massive fans
who posts here as "silverheels".
So send her an e-mail at
BrunaZanelli@aol.com
You might be able to arrange for your father to attend a convention somewhere in the UK if one ever gets organised

Just to clarify that remark Bruna is not herself massive, just her heart and her love of all things Gord-related

Char,
all I can say is huuuuuuuumph! LOL

and dear John, I knew what you meant all the time.
As for our new friend, Jacqui: Hi there.
Do please email me, would love to hear from you. You know, while waiting for Gord's return to performing, you should buy your dad the new CD 'Harmony' ... just about the best gift for any Lightfoot fan.

I stand corrected. Jacqui, altho there WILL be a UK release, the date has not been confirmed yet so in the meantime, try Play.com. They have next day delivery.

How's that, John-John?
