The first inductees for the Canadian Folk Music Walk of Fame have been named. In addition to Gord are Stan Rogers, Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell, Quebec fiddler Jean Carignan and Nova Scotia pioneer folklorist and folk-song collector Helen Creighton. Each gets a bronze maple leaf on the sidewalk on Bank Street in Ottawa. See the article at:

Glad to see that Canada knows that Gordon Lightfoot should be one of the 1st,if not "the" 1st inductees. Of course,he's Canada's son,so it pretty much goes without saying it. Sure is a difference from here in the U.S. Big congatulations to Gord! He deserves every accolade bestowed upon him.

Here's another link to Gord. Helen Creighton is the person who rediscovered Farewell To Nova Scotia, a traditional tune that Gord has played in concerts throughout the years.
