I dont think anyone can come up with the answer. But Im asking it anyway. What does Gordon have in his mouth on Old Dans Record?
It's not a cigarette, nor a pen, definitely not a tooth pick.
Cathy(Giberson)Cowette, I bet you know what it is...Jesse.

It looks like a round toothpick... a heavy duty one at that. I believe I read long ago that he put it in his mouth to mask the affects of Bell's Palsy.

That would be a good reason. Because that Bell's Palsy thing, caused him a lot of grief. Like he couldn't smile.
Still shows a little. He told Peter Gzowski, in that famous interview, that he still couldn't smile very well, especially if he gets nervous.
Some album covers, were photogragh with the left side of his face, in the shadows, for that reason. Thanks Cathy...Jesse.

Swede your back, haven't heard from you for a while. I didn't eat my guitar yet, now I sort of think your someone in the Lightfoot entourage.
Great to hear from both of you...Jesse.

That's what I was a thinkin'.
Never noticed it before. I always thought it was a toothpick. However, I don't have the ODR album yet, so that's why I never gave it a closer look.

I have the LP cover, and until this thread started I had always thought it was a Mary Jane pin joint. I looked at it a bit closer, and now I'm not so sure.

You know someone new here is going to take this out of context. The bird would be alive today if you had paddled faster and hadn't stopped for lunch during the portage.

How was I supposed to know that Lightfoot was going to flambeau Lyle over a Zippo? This was the last time I saw Lyle, in the frigid Chinuguntha, moments before Lightfoot snatched him up...

Again, Douglas, you have learned something new. lol
Watchman, I think you have have hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what it looks like. Was that album and the demise of Lyle about the same time, or did Gord save it for future use?
