Nice article. But what i liked most was the guys replys. The Master of None especially, " while camping along the Yukon River, in the night a canoe pulls up to our camp and out steps a long haired Gordon Lightfoot". Talk about a major surprise for the campers. Imagine something like that happening out in the middle of the wilderness.
The other one was Pencilnex mentioning how Gordon is anal about his recordings. So it seems he is, and it pays for us with great recordings and shows, with excellent control of the sound of his music. Thanks.

I wonder which song one poster had been trying to find for almost 20 years, having heard it once on an AM station in the late 80s (big guitars skirling like bagpipes). Anybody got a clue? Gord's songs will do that to you - once heard, forever haunting.

Auburn Annie,

I suggest the Lightfoot song with "big guitars skirling like bagpipes" may have been Salute. (Give my regards to Syracuse.)

I agree with you on that. For me, what would be a major surprise is if the Man himself were to come to my house & knock on the door, and then he & the band would stay for lunch. Cool!
