How many GL songs do you know the lyrics to? These are the ones I know. I know "The Wreck" like the back of my hand, and I know 'Shadows' and 'Too Many Clues In This Room' pretty well and might half to pause once or twice for 2 seconds for 'I'm Not Supposed To Care' and 'Race Among The Ruins'. I'm getting close to knowing 'East Of Midnight' too.

The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
Shadows
Too Many Clues In This Room
I'm Not Supposed To Care
Race Among The Ruins

Since I've only truly been listening to all of GL's music for about a year,I haven't memorized as many lyrics as I know I could. Had I more time, like I did at your age, more than likely I'd know quite a few! I know Cotton Jenny,Sundown,Carefree Highway,If You Could R.M.M,Beautiful and most of Make Way For The Lady. "Wreck" has a lot of lyrics but I only know 1/2 of them despite having heard the song for over 20 years. As for the rest, hopefully that'll come in time. Later!

I have a blue ton of lyrics in my head. No kidding! I tend to listen to an album over many times, when I start learning the lyrics, I sing to it. I just listen to my music too much, which is why I cannot sleep to music....I stay awake, listening!
I started collecting with the album Sundown, then COTS, GG1...at which time I suddenly realized there was a whole bunch of pre-1974 Gord material. I've been collecting in both directions ever since.
I don't remember all of the songs from the earlier albums (I do know Ode to Big Blue, Hi'Way Songs, Can't Depend on Love), but I know at least 80% of the lyrics on every later album. Whew!

Sputnik, you are a veritable walking Gord encyclopedia (sp). I know none. None all the way through or memorized. I just have lots of air in between these ears and that's ok, cause then when a Gord song comes on I can enjoy the parts of it I do know.

Believe it or not, my list has changed since I started this topic(it didn't take very long)
The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
The House You Live In
High And Dry
Shadows
Race Among The Ruins
The Pony Man
I'm Not Supposed To Care
Circle Of Steel

I just found out this morning that I know the lyrics to 'The Circle Is Small'. I've listened to it enough times to remember them all when I half to.
But I get them mixed up a little bit, though. But one more time listening to it and paying close attention and I've got it.

I'm like Bob from Mich...I can sing along with most of the songs...even CRT! But, only if I'm singing along...I don't think I could repeat the lyrics without the music.

Oma-it must be a Deb thing, I'm with you, I need Gord to be singing with me to remind me of all the words. I just am truly amazed at singers being able to remember some much music, not only words but the notes. What a talent that is.

If you wish to be even better than Gord himself, list all the songs from longest to shortest, starting from 'Canadian Railroad Trilogy III' on down to 'High And Dry' or whatever his shortest song is.
(I do this kind of thing when I'm bored in class, it REALLY helps pass the time)

The only ones I don't fully know the lyrics to are
Stone Cold Sober
Ring Them Bells
Hangdong Hotel Room
The Way I Feel
There may be a couple of others that didn't spring to mind, but these are the only songs I don't know by heart(believe it or not).
