We are the Rainy Day People

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Cool video. :) Now, for an almost newbee like me, can anyone put some names to the faces?
|
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Very cool video Brink thanks for posting. Most of these people are Corfidians, Kerstin. I dont know many but do recognize a few faces, like Sir John and wife Susan, Yuri, Bill Hall, and Lady Char at the very end, amongs others. I'll let Brink or others do the task if they choose...
And of course Mike Heffernan & The Man... :) |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Bravo! Bravo! Encore! Encore!

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Kerstin,
The first two pictures were of Yuri, then a bit later is AnneOK (who is also the sleeping person) me, Donnie and Lori, the big smile guy is Derek (fantastic musician and singer) and behind him is our little mouse, Ron Jones (lightfoothead2toe) at the mic, Bill Hall at the mic, young Kenyon sitting playing the guitar. Great video eh? Tom has nearly 40 Gord videos on youtube now, just type in Thomas157 and you can watch them all. Remember to leave feedback and he is taking requests, he is planning on getting a video for every Gord song. |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Thanks for the info, brink. :)

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Who is the dude at 0:57?
|
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
That happy fellow is Derek from California..

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Who's the woman in between Gord & Yuri at the very beginning. You see her a few more times after. I dont think it's cousin Catrinka ? :)
At 59 seconds guy on mandolin ? At 1:17 that woman again on the couch, Catrinka ? :) |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
JJ - I don't recognize her at all - I was 'star struck' and don't recall much about anyone who was around me.
Geezz, I look awful!! Fresh out of the hospital after a 6 month stay - bloated and balding from medication and lying on a pillow for much of that duration. Thought I'd miss my first Massey concert in about a quarter century but thanks to Char, Jenney and other Corfidians, I made it. Not too much about 2006 I want to remember.... Yuri |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
You look great Yuri dont be so hard on yourself. :) 2006 was not a good year for you eh ! I had some years myself that I dont like to remember. I think we pretty much all have some. "C'est la vie", as they often say down here. :)

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
I don't recognize the woman between Gord and Yuri, but some of the others not yet named are Jenney, Matt, Melissa, Ed (they are more "newsgrouper" than Corfidians although some have posted here), Char's daughter Lisa, Chuck, Joan (Susan's mother) ... probably others I should recognize too! Somehow, I seem to have escaped being shown, but I was in only a couple of photographs. Oh, and there's that wonderful lady fiddler, who I didn't get to meet personally. Wish I had.

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Hey Val,
I think I know who Ed and Jenney are. But Matt, Melissa, Joan {Susan's mother} I dont. I spotted Lisa, {Char's daughter} who looks a bit like Canadian country singer Lisa Brokop, to me anyway... :) |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
The woman between Gord and Yuri, wearing blue is Joan - Susan's mother and John Fowles mother in law. Great lady.
|
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Matt is at 1:41 and elsewhere but that is a good picture of him. Melissa is sitting with Richard and I (we are looking at a scrapbook) at .32
I don't remember what that gals name was she brought her fiddle and some flutes (whistles she called them), she was invited by Jerre Haskins of the Cumberland Trio. |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People

Err Umm Tom has assembled a motley collection of Newsgroupers and "corfiddlers"(a great name Douglas)
All with a view to inspire/encourage as many as poosible to make the pilgrimage to Massey in only 4 months time! So get saving |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Hi Sir John Fowles, you pretty much identified everyone there. Good Job.
All I can add to that is you are all a pretty good looking bunch of Lightfoot lovers. :) Thank you John, ~ Jesse Joe ~ |
Re: We are the Rainy Day People
mnmouse I always thought that was short for Minnie mouse of Walt Disney. It's Minnesota Mouse.

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Thank you so much for putting this together guys. I brought a tear I must confess. There are memories wrapped up in there that I hope we can re-live again in May. A great bunch of folks you all are. Cheers, Ron J.

Re: We are the Rainy Day People
Yes indeed Brink, I've now seen your photo for sure. You appear younger than I imagine. Did I not read one of your past post that you mentioned you had grand kids, I might be wrong. Anyway John's post and this last one of yours, confirms who you are in the group. Your the one sending snow to Char & Yuri in Toronto, and then they send the surplus to me down here in Atlantic Canada... Thank you all. :)
