I'd have to buy a laptop, park myself on the hammock and get some type of work-at-home job, and then I couldn't guarantee that I'd actually work. I'd be spending my time looking at the lake. Well, if you ever come to Big Bear and have more money that sense, that house is actually a vacation rental. Course the nightly rental is more rent than some people pay for a month. Still it's an amazing house, built originallly in 1938 and it sits on a point that juts out into the lake so the views are amazing.
Yeah, photographing beautiful houses for a living was a tough job, but someone had to do it. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif quote:Originally posted by SilverHeels: Violet, that is a gorgeous place to live! |
SW Ontario ...some would say not SW enough

Searam,
I live in the Atlanta area. And oops ... it was me who hosted the gathering in THE ATL. It was held June 18-20 and it was a blast if I do say so myself. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif I had people come in from CA, NJ, FLA, PA, AL, TX, Toronto and the UK as well as one from Alpharetta, GA! If you didn't get word that I was having a gathering ... blame it on Silverheels- she was responsible for that part of the event. LOL Just kidding Bru ... you did great! |
melbourne, australia. (we had the 1956 olympics!)
far down south according to most people. catmanron from this group also lives down here |
Hiya,
I live in Vancouver, WA. By the Columbia River which is the border between WA and OR states. I spend all my wishes wishing I lived back up north on the Olympic Peninsula. Wish I hadn't moved down here! |

Great to hear from all of you! We have a great worldwide network of friends and fans! I am sorry I missed the Atlanta gathering, as I recently moved from there. And Joveski, I hear your part of this planet is absolutely beautiful!
Take care, everyone! Sean |

djb, welcome and thanks! I'll bet Sweden is beautiful! Do you have any pictures of where you live?
This is becoming educational, a geography lesson! Sean |
I live in NH, originally from northern VT 2 exits from Quebec. Used to hear Gord all the time from Montreal. I've been to CA too
and often wish I could live there but I know I'd miss New England and the refreshingly cool autumns. And over here is a little closer to the Great Lakes! The only way I get to see them is on the weather map or on lake webcams. However they get WAY more snow than we ever do! |
Once on tour, I stayed in Portsmouth, NH, and Bob Dylan was there, as well. I spent an extra day and went up to Maine and thought that they were absolutely beautiful. I thnk it was in the spring, but the morning after I got there, it snowed over 30 inches overnight! Being from Atlanta, I was amazed that the major streets were fairly cleaned-up, and life for those folks went on as usual. Atlanta would have shut down for two weeks! But, I'll bet te autumns there are fab! Being new to southern CA, I will miss the fall.

Sean |
I live in Brantford Ontario an hour away from Toronto.... been here all my life.
|
There are so many special places where we all live, and so many beautiful places on this planet, that, perhaps, it would be great to actually see where we all reside! Some folks have posted pictures of their area. If we could all do it, we could actually see!
What do you think??? Sean |

I'll just pack up and visit everyone. I'll take pictures and John can post them. Great idea Sean, wanna come along? |

You must be neighbors with the Gretzkys. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif This reminds me of when some friends were vacationing in the USA. They met an American couple, and upon hearing my friends were from Sweden, one of the Americans said, "Oh, we met another Swedish couple once; do you know the Anderssons?" Gotta love it! |

You must be neighbors with the Gretzkys. Actually, it sometimes is a small world. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif I live in a small village outside Leicester in England. There used to be an old Rolls Royce engine factory 200 yards up the road from my house. Guess who used to sometimes work there? … Our very own John Fowles! Weird! |
Hey, come on out to perpetually sunny, Southern California! Being from the east, I really miss cloudy days and some rain!
As I read through everyone's posts, and think (and see) where we all live, it kinda sends shivers down my spine. It's so cool to imagine where you all are. Someday, we should hold a world-wide GordFest Sean |
Brink, let me know when you're ready!!!
Sean |
I'm new to this list but thought I would join in. I live just outside Washington D.C.
|
Sean, are you going to make Massey in May?

Sean P.S. Still here in Marina del Rey... |
Hey, Sean, North Hollywood, California here. 5 minutes from "beautiful, downtown Burbank." (from Johnny Carson fame). Also 5 minutes from the Big Brother house if anyone watched that summer reality show. Janice, I have a good girlfriend from junior high school who lives in La Mesa! We go to San Diego every year for our family vacation. Not sure whether we're going to go over winter break, but, for sure, we'll be there next summer. Be nice to meet you! I've lived in Los Angeles all my life, but, as a student, I was lucky enough to live in Holland for the summer and we traveled to Belgium, France, England, and Germany (for dinner one night -- the town we lived in was 10 minutes from the border). My husband is from Toronto. I'm so jealous of all of you who are able to go to Massey Hall to see Gord every year!! I'm counting the minutes until April 29 next year... tick... tick... tick...

I so need to keep up. Where is the Big Brother House this time around? Surely NOT in North Hollywood. Studio City maybe?
I was born and raised in the Valley. I spent a year living in NoHo just off of Tujunga. I miss IKEA. quote:Originally posted by Sheryl Klein: Hey, Sean, North Hollywood, California here. 5 minutes from "beautiful, downtown Burbank." (from Johnny Carson fame). Yes, Violet. It's still in Studio City, 5 min. from here. I actually grew up in Studio City. Nice place still. Love IKEA, too. Disneyland for grown-ups!!

I live in the shade of a forest of green, in the wildest of woodlands that you've ever seen.
