You should have one thread called TG that you put all these songs under. The way rm wanted it, lol. Where is our good man, anyhow. Quite a noticeable void

Nice individual take on a big time Gord tune.

You no doubt have that dedication level up there on a big high. Love the presence in this one. Do I see a "Yahama" label on your acoustic? I had an early one from the sixties and to this day I regret ever letting it go.

It is indeed a Yamaha ... I actually have a 6- and 12-string by that brand, both "FGX" models, according to the labels. I think they might be at the lower end of the Yamaha line of guitars, as they don't strike me as being of particularly good quality now that I've played them for a number of years.

Looking back, I probably would have bought a couple of Seagull guitars (apparently hand-crafted, Canadian-made instruments) at the time I wound up buying a four-guitar package set along with the Fender Squire bass and a nylon-string classical. Oh well, hindsight is always 20-20 and there's always time (though currently not the money LOL) to upgrade.

Hey TG.

You're having fun with your new equipment there and it's sounding quite good.

Are doing the complete production? The harmony sure sounds like your voice and it's coming through nice and smooth.

Cheers,

RJ.

Yes sir, did all the instruments, voices and mixing. Always open to advice or suggestions on making the recordings better, especially the mixdown part. Trying to juggle 17 tracks as I did on IYCRMM and EQ each element so things don't clash with each other is a tricky thing. Just saw "Home Recording for Dummies" at Long and McQuade's yesterday, maybe I'll pick that up for some pointers ...

keep on recording and sharing! such fun

is there an L+M in your neck of the woods (Stoney Creek/Hamilton)? i 'live' at the Burlington location, it's my candy store

if you get to there (and can find one of the 12 parking spots!), Mike and James (just to to name a few) are terrific guys/resources

I sure do, I'm just 20 minutes away from that L and M and drop in often to see what's new. Hopefully will run into you there sometime, I bought the Zoom 24-track recorder there. The sales fellow gave me lots of insight on recording during about an hour, but that still just scratches the surface of what one needs to know. I guess the bottom line is as you said: keep recording and learning. Trial and error can be the best teacher.

Okay, not Lightfoot, but another iconic Canadian act that is far too underrated considering their musical brilliance ...

Thanks a bunch, JJ! It did take a long time to put all that together, trying to imitate Lighthouse's orchestration and all. You keep your good music coming, too!

If anyone's in the Hamilton area Sunday afternoon the 27th, I've been tapped to sing the national anthem at Copps Coliseum for the start of the Hamilton Bulldogs-Toronto Marlies American Hockey League game.

I WON'T, however, be singing the Bulldogs' theme song, "Who Let the Dogs Out, Woof Woof" ...

You're not kidding ... I had my first game last week with both the American and Canadian anthems, with some French lyrics in the mix to boot. I was paranoid I'd forget something somewhere along the line LOL.

Unfortunately, the 'Dogs lost 3-2 to arch-rival Toronto Marlies, but the anthem went okay. Didn't forget the lyrics or anything LOL

Hey TG.

It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year and your wonderful version of this great tune made it that more wonderful.

You sure put a lot of work into this one and made it "your own" even.

It sure is a fine production.

Best to you and family in the new Year.

RJ.
