Sorry, John, but, IMHO, a good old southern biscuit is NOTHING like an English scone!
Of course, now, I'm speaking of a scratch-made southern biscuit with a soft and tender brownie-like texture on the inside and a crusty top - like my grandmother used to make. And like all grandmothers used to make - down here in these southern parts of the U.S.
No offense to your scone - it's just that I never tasted a scone that tasted like a biscuit.
OK, now I'm hungry.
