Default Interesting take on IYCRMM

I saw on e-bay an album from 1975 by the Dallas Men's Chorus "Vocal Majority," that included If You Could Read My Mind. The interesting thing is that this is a barbershop chorus.

sorry, the link isnt' coming up in a cordid nor youtube search but a while back there was a video link of some barbershoppers doing IYCRMM (atleast I think that was the number)

while sifting I found this which is different than the East York/Paul Bartlett chorus posted a while back...this is more of a choir arrangement, of course...not my thing but as 'someone' once said, there are no bad Gord covers

YouTube - SONG FOR A WINTER'S NIGHT-excerpt

....we just need a barbershop version of CYC, some harmonies might just be the missing ingredient

I don't think the world needs any covers of CYC. I might be able to tolerate a video of the lady 'signer' using ASL to relay the lyrics. I would turn off the sound and watch her 'sign' :

"In my canary yellow canoe, mellow yellow canoe
I want to go tripping in my canary yellow canoe
Chibougamau, Peace River, Resolute too
In my canary yellow canoe"

I'd be willing to wager that some of the lyrics require the use of USL.

wow, even with ASL there are various "dialects" (versions of same word)

so when you get to that particularily poetic last verse, "my elephant too", one of the following will apply:

you know it actualy sounds more like an ark than a canoe...

fascinating research Jimbo

I had never really noticed this incongruety before.but you do have to wonder how Gord came to associate
an elephant with his Canadian canoeing expeditions!!
I therefore challenged myself to find an image of a hephalump in a canoe.Predictably I failed although this
is pretty close!!
