Default Des Moines Set List (May 16, 2022)

Hoyt Sherman Auditorium
May 16, 2022

Did She Mention My Name
Now and Then
Too Many Clues in this Room
Ribbon of Darkness
Sundown
14 K Gold
If You Could Read My Mind
Fine as Fine Can Be
Rainy Day People
Song for a Winter's Night
Carefree Highway
Wreck of E.F.
Early Morning Rain

3 Encores:

14. Wild Strawberries
15. Baby Step Back
16. Beautiful

Gord appeared in decent voice and good spirits. Didn't need his Biotene or sinus clearing like he did in 2018 or 2019. Band was sharp and tight. Beautiful spring evening in Des Moines, no humidity, and a slight warm wind. The mansion is exquisite in paintings and sculptures from late 1800's. Nearly sold out- few nose bleed seats were said to be available. I think it is the first time in all my concerts where Gord left the stage and returned for 3 songs.

Opening act Jay Psaros was entertaining, tapping canned tracks to supplement his live 6-string playing. He is a bar-room singer from the Northeast singing his own songs. He did do one cover: Prince's "Purple Rain." Enjoyable to listen- fine guitar picker.

We'll also be attending Manitouwac, Wisconsin on June 19. Will post set list on about June 25.

Seafarer John,

Thanks for another excellent concert review. Pleased to hear Gord and the band were in good form. You and the other audience members must have appreciated it even more knowing the COVID pandemic prevented concerts for so long and Gord is now 83.
