Robby Lake,

I guess I didn't keep you posted, because the concert has already been performed!

Here's an earlier concert performance of the first two tracks from "Thick As A Brick 2" (the tracks are "From A Pebble Thrown" and "Pebbles Instrumental"):

Here's a stage performance of another track "Banker Bets, Banker Wins":

And here's a concert performance of another track "Old School Song":

I'm still hoping the "Thick As A Brick 1 & 2" tour reaches Australia.

I saw somewhere a quote from Ian Anderson saying he is working on another concept album.

I hope you now feel (belatedly) posted.

Char,

Thanks for posting those (glowing) concert reviews. I especially liked the description of Ian Anderson's flute resembling a "character" like the bird in "Peter and the Wolf".

Love Tull music (flute)! Just upgraded my original vinyl copy of Thick as a Brick to CD, and loving it!

Judging by Ian Anderson's recent comments on www.jethrotull.com , it sounds like the "Thick As A Brick 1 & 2" tour will not be coming to Australia. I'm disappointed, but I can understand that after touring TAAB1&2 for nearly two years, Anderson wants to make a new album and take IT on the road. His website comments were as follows.

"Another US/Canada tour draws to a close as we wend our way from Edmonton to Calgary. Miles of flat farmland with all the crops long since harvested as winter approaches. The leaf season is over. At least here. Back in Maine and New Hampshire, it was just beginning when we passed through from Portland ME to Montreal. But tourists (leaf-peepers) were thick on the road in their RVs and hotels full with jacked-up prices to boot.

Only another nine TAAB shows to go before it is put to bed – probably for ever. I shall miss it after the best part of two years touring the shows around the world. The support of the fans has been magnificent and the acceptance and appreciation of the TAAB2 sequel album surpasses all expectations.

But now it’s time to turn attention to the new album and tours for next year. We start rehearsals late November and record through to late January with a break for Christmas, including the shows at Ely Cathedral and St John’s Church in Oxford.

The UK May concerts are set in stone and tickets on sale. European shows are planned for June and July and we are off to the USA for two tours from the end of September to early November."

Apparently there's been a re-think and they're planning to bring "Thick As A Brick 1 & 2" to Australia and New Zealand in Nov-Dec2014. I got this in an email from staff member James Anderson, who I assume is a relative of Ian Anderson. I'll keep my fingers crossed and watch www.jethrotull.com .
