Default "Hey You" by T.G.

Edit: Since the below was written, I've figured out how to weave in several video streams into one whole.

Trying out new video editing software -- Nero 10 Multi-Media Suite -- and, though I can paste the mixed audio onto one video track, I can't seem to figure out how to edit several video streams showing each instrument being played together within the same video. Anyone have proficiency with this and can offer some advice? In the meantime, here's the one-stream version ...

Hi there TG.

Sorry I am unable to help you with any of the technical issues here but I'm really enjoying this video.
It's a great tune and I share the emotional sincerity you put into Gord's songs.

A well put together version and the harmony is very complimentary I thought.

Lots of stars in your direction.

RJ.

Nice job, and well done on all instruments. I have enough trouble playing just one.

fun tune to test run, and good work

i dont know the tool...only know of Nero stuff for authouring and burning, etc

but the theory is similar for all these interfaces... stack your clips all in synch with master audio track... use blade tool to create desired segment selects and the playback will be in a top to bottom dominance is there is any clip overlap

there are more ideal approaches rather than stacking each entire clip, but if if you're not sure what segments you want in the final cut, then this approach will let you sift through countless options if your computer has sufficient specs

if you are going to try paste using one video track, then i guess something like Moviemaker (or iMovie on the Mac) would also do the job, but good luck staying in synch with audio

bill can articulate better and may be familiar with the app within this Suite (an entire suite for under $100 would not have me expecting much friendliness)

Thanks for the good words, Patti, Char, Un and JJ! JJ, the specific item in the suite is called Nero Vision 10 and it lets me stack the video and audio clips one on top of the other. I've synched all the tracks so it's just a case of somehow switching from one stream to another as the song progresses. I'll check again and see if there's a blade tool or something of that sort that will allow me to select segments from different streams to perhaps band together into a cohesive whole. I'm usually good at deciphering these things as long as they're somewhat user-friendly, but this one has me a bit stumped as there doesn't appear to be anything obvious to let me do that.

Yahoo! I finally figured out how to weave in various video streams into one whole. I owe JJ a drink, his tips sent me in the right direction. It was indeed the cutting too that allowed for transition points to be set, then the streams not in the main frame were deleted, leaving the one that was to appear in the main frame. So voila, here's the result. Unfortunately, there was some glitch with some of the streams wherein they didn't appear full-frame, but we'll work on that -- along with picture-in-picture and other tricks -- in a future edition ...

wonderful, tg! now the sky is the limit as far as bells and whistles and fun goes (and sleep deprivation, lol)

hey, toss a quick percussion (or keys) clip in before the e-gtr solo at 2:25...going from the acoustic directly results in a jump cut...ya don't want those

the drums do sound nice and analog ... love the credits

...a Creemore please

Haha, sleep deprivation, you're not kidding! And yes, acoustic drums are the only way to go ... my first instrument was drums and I shudder when I hear electronic drums or machines, yuck.

I'll have to leave Gord for the next tune and pay tribute to another iconic Canadian act, Lighthouse.

My first concert (High school dance) was Lighthouse

Next year it was Stampeders

I'm guessing your doing Pretty Lady

Vox for OFM or Sunny Days are too crazy!

Char, TG needs to get into greenscreen next

I never saw Lighthouse in its heyday, it was in the reunion era, circa 1996, that I first caught them. Lucky you to catch them with Bob McBride et al. Still, they have the basic core -- Skip Prokop, Paul Hoffert, Ralph Cole and original trombonist Russ Little (now pushing 70).

The song isn't any of the three you mentioned, I'll leave it as a bit of a surprise

Okay, no bells and whistles, Char, sometimes less is more!
