OK all you guitar players out there. We've heard what Yves has been up to. What's everybody else working on?

Any piece working out well? Do you have a song that's falling into place? One that's a tough go? One that you've just nailed?

Any interesting gigs? Practice room triumphs?

I'm finally getting comfortable with "Restless."

"Worth Believin'" is working nicely and now that I've got it, CRT is just plain fun on the 12.

I've added "Race..ruins," and "Children...wings."

I'm struggling with trying to add the lead phrase to the finger style accompaniment on "Quixote."

How's everyone else's chops?

Not working on any particular song. But do play the Lightfoot songs quite a bit. My favorite one to play has always been, and still is "Early Morning Rain", in the key of "D". Dam I like to play that song. And try to sound as much as Lightfoot's voice, as I posibly can. :D Like when he did it back in the 60's. Capo up to 2nd fret, so I guess it isn't "D" anymore.

Restless and Morning Glory, in the key of "A". Also great fun...

New 12 String Mike,

Congratulations on your progress. "It's Worth Believin" is one of my all time favorites, by any artist. I've never figured out the flat pick, and the only Lightfoot song in my playlist is IYCRMM.

Do you have a site where we could listen to your interpretations ?

RMD,

I don't play Believin' with a flat pick, but just do it with a running finger style.

I've learned more about the flat pick, on the 12, in the last year than I have in 30+ years of playing.

Its one of the things that make Gord's stuff worth working on. You can switch styles and 12 & 6 strings so often.
