A bit off topic...but I'm listening to a cd released yesterday, Neil Young, Live at Massey Hall 1971. It was recorded January 19, 1971. No band, just vocals acoustic guitar and piano. Its amazing. Then was thinking the March 1971 Gord series would have been outstanding. My first Massey concert was the next year in 1972. Wow the lovely music that old hall has heard!

agreed, bb12 - great images and interesting video of both he and Massey throughout the DVD that's also included (both for $17 CDN, a bargain) - the sound is SO clear and his vox are right on - old man, down by the river, ohio, the needle & the damage done, helpless, heart of gold (early piano version), etc, etc, etc...check his website for lotsa cool clips or just pick this up whether a neil fan or not (i lean this way actually), a moment in time so well preserved...yeah, Gord needs to dig deeper into his closets and the early recording studio basement vaults

This has rec'd fab reviews and has charted Young again for the first time in years..
I just read a great book last week by a fan, Kevin Chong, about re-tracing Young's drive in his hearse to California as a teen. The fan also talked about the Rustheads and the Neil Young Nation and their internet groups and conventions etc.
It was an interesting read.
I've read other books about him including the wonderful one his late father wrote..Neil's an interesting guy...to say the least...

while I was listening to Lightfoot as a kid my sister listened to the rockers but we both listened to Neil Young..

yep - a LIVE cd from Lightfoot is in order..one recorded at Massey..soon..

I just watched the DVD - wow - it's great..old footage like that is so incredible to have..

Loved the old reel to reel sitting on the stage taking it all in...very nice.
fabulous sound for such a basic way to record a live show..
lots of nostalgia, old memories..wow.
