The mic is an EV with great Bass response. The closer you get to it, the more bass gets projected by the original signal.
EV has 2 mics for $100 that are individually built...

Dug this up yesterday and it sounded better than I 1st thought.
Notably, "Norman S. Rockwell", on Lead... some of the best Lead Guitar that I've ever heard him do. I think "Red" would give us a nod!...
