Softly
I don't know how this question will sound but what does he mean by "Softly She Comes?"
Only other time I've heard that term in a song was the 1959 tune by the Fleetwoods called "Come Softly Darling." |
Re: Softly
Softly She Comes ... in the night..... She has gone (come) to him in the night, it's a furtive meeting, seemingly clandestine, she spends the night and then she then goes in the dawn.
Come and go... |

Re: Softly
As a kid when I heard this song I invisioned instead of taking place in the house somewhere outside at night.
When he sings "Down the darken Hall" it should be obvious that he's inside but as a young child sometimes you don't always hear things right. Anyway here's the original recording. |
Re: Softly
Now the YT police removed the original and all wh're stuck with is the remake.
That would including the remake of W&W. Both versions of The Way I Feel and Crossroads. |
