This sure is really great news. After the St. Patrick's Day gigs finish up here in Ottawa my plan is to head on down to my good ol' TO town to connect with my kids & grandkids and hopefully fit in a visit to Mc Veigh's pub for a pint of Guinness and give Paul McVeigh a "head's up" on the dates of the concerts and set the plans in place for a session or two throughout the duration of the Massey concerts.

My experience has been it's never too early to set the wheels in motion for such events but it always has to be fun and part of the whole package.

Will stay in tune. RJ.

The green light is on for the pub jam sessions in McVeigh's pub again for November this year.

As the dates approach I will be working with Paul McVeigh and Char to arrange things in order to accommodate the folks who are gearing up to join us for the fun times ahead.

Stay loose, RJ.

Hey Ron. Last time the jam session I attended and the post concert parties at McVeigh's were alot of fun. Thanks for your efforts in planning this again in November.

Thanks Brian.

Hope you can join us again this year. It's gearing up to be a big one and we hope to see more folks join us on stage or also in less intimidating venue maybe back in a hotel room so we all can see and share the diversity and talent some of the folks bring along with them.

All the best, RJ.

Oh, oh, were they throwing tomatoes at the stage last year LOL?

More like they were sending us up pints of Guinness TG, but hope you will be there again with us with that boomin' bass sound. It was cool and gave us the full compliment we needed.

Also, I should mention that after meeting many of the folks and speaking to them about the music, I have discovered that there are quite a few who do sing and play but have not had experience up there on the live stage like others in the group have, and I must confess that I have a tendency to turn into a bit of a"ham" up there so this year, as I mentioned earlier it would be cool if we attract others who can join us and make a contribution, and I understand that interest is generating.

I'm happy just doing the background work with Char and handling the hosting, MC, or whatever it is they call it.

But in the past we have had some cool sessions in the hotel rooms and it seemed to be a more relaxing way as well to get to hear what is offered from those who like to perform in a sort of "house party" setting.

So a call is out to all who want to be part of the festivities to bring along your instrument if you wish or if not there will certainly be a guitar of two available.

Overheard in the lobby of Massey Hall during a Lightfoot intermission:

His voice is good, I wish he would
Sing Looking at the Rain,
Highway Songs, Minstrel of the Dawn,
Or Too Late For Prayin'.

Stay loose, RJ.

By golly, you're right, RJ, I was looking at this video and didn't see tomatoes anywhere ...

Sniff, sniff ... count me among the absent ones. My daughter Rachel (some of you met her a few years back) is getting married on the 28th, so we will be in a whirl of prenuptial preparations at the time. The groom arrives from South Carolina on the 20th (he's in the Navy) and various relatives will be arriving from all over from the 21st through the 25th.
